Please understand that these procedures apply only in the case of a transfer of a domain name from one entity to another. Two separate templates/actions are required to transfer a domain name. The first template requests a "D"eletion of the domain name by current domain name holder. The other template requests a "N"ew domain name from the entity seeking to obtain the domain name. The following procedures apply: 1. The domain name administrative contact listed in the domain name record on file with InterNIC Registration Services must complete items 0 - 3 of the domain template (current version). You can confirm the name of the administrative contact through a "Whois" query. Item "0" should reflect "D"elete. The subject line should read "TRANSFER DOMAIN - (DOMAIN NAME) 2. Send the "D"elete template to the entity to whom the domain name is to be transferred. If the recipient of the domain name does not have Internet access, they can obtain an email account through the Internet Service Provider they have selected to support the domain name. 3. The recipient of the domain name should completely fill in a different domain template (current version), with item "0" reflecting "N"ew. The subject line should read "TRANSFER DOMAIN - (DOMAIN NAME). 4. Append the second template to the email from the current domain holder and forward the joined templates as a single file to HOSTMASTER@INTERNIC.NET. PLEASE NOTE: The email headers from both parties must be intact to provide evidence of appropriate authorization. If it is not clear that the transfer is authorized by the current holder, the templates will not be processed. For more detailed information concerning both DELETE and NEW procedures, see the GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS appended to version 3.0 of the domain-template.txt. If you have additional questions, or require assistance in preparing and submitting the templates, please feel free to contact InterNIC Registration Services Customer Assistance at (703) 742-4777."
