Hello Taran
I would like to agree with you: Yes, the problem is business. But What
business? Take as example yours: democracy, gov and people as a such a
business. Two cases:
1) in Europe, 25 countries vote last summer for electing Europpen
Parliament. Only 35% participate and, in countries as Poland, only 15%. An
example of democracy!
2) better than this: only 25% of voters electing President of USA by 50%,
that means only 13% of total voters. An other example of democracy!
Very good business for govs. Bad for people? No, according you and I it is
only their fault! They are invited to vote and they do not vote. But let me
this little margin: Why people do not vote in Europe and in USA? One
hypothesis is because the "empire": empire of medias, empire of desilusion,
tiring...a horse tired cannot continue to run! And authors as Lessig are
right against this kind of "empire" when they promote free licencing!
Cheers
Victoor
