There is a children's story called Charlotte's Web. It
was written in English but has been translated and
also made into a film so some of you may know it.
It is the story of a spider called Charlotte. It is a
very sad story because, near the end of the book, the
spider dies. But it is also a very happy story,
because the spider leaves behind a sac of eggs, and at
the very end of the book the eggs hatch and
Charlotte's children go sailing off into the world on
their little gossamer parachutes.
I am writing this message so late - almost too late -
because I have been working hard this week with a
group of people here in St Lucia to set up a chapter
of the Internet Society in St Lucia.
This initiative is one of Mistica's children, because
without Mistica it would never have been started.
So thank you Mistica, thank you Daniel and Javier,
thank you so many friends from Spanish, Portuguese and
French speaking America who have welcomed me so warmly
notwithstanding my English or my very clumsy Spanish.
I think that Mistica will have many children and so
will never really die, because as long as you are
remembered you have immortality.
