La première Université de la Communication de la Caraïbe (UCCAR), qui aura
lieu en avril 2001 a été lancée officiellement à Hourtin

L'U.C.C.A.R., association membre du Réseau International des Universités de
la Communication, organise, au Diamant, commune du Sud de la Martinique, la
première Université de la Communication de la Caraïbe, qui se tiendra les
18, 19 et 20 avril 2001. Thème proposé : "Sociétés de la Caraïbe, société
de l'information"
