Dear Etienne and everyone,
I made the suggestion when the BBC World Service began
to report that the problem actually extended across
four countries - Mauritania, Burkhina Faso, Mali and
Niger.
It's not that I don't care about the others, but one
takes care of one's family first, and Adama has made
Mali our family :-)
But the logistics are dreadful :-(
Adama, if you are there can you help us? In St Lucia
we have a local branch of "Save the Children" which
gets some funds from Canada but which is staffed by St
Lucians and knows directly about St Lucian problems. I
know Mali is so much bigger but there must be
organisations like that, perhaps based in Timbuktu
which is in the affected area.
The URLs below point to Islamic Relief and
Muslimhands, both of which are already helping.
