Elaborate Descriptions of Tasks:

activities

description

T1

Instruction
Instruction of TECAM operators concerning the EGM drawing conventions and other requirements. The preparation of basic documents like layer conventions and legendas by EGM will be crucial. The aim is to make these (digital) documents so good, that the need for further instructions will be minimal. Additional instructions depend on questions asked by TECAM. The instruction phase will overlap the performance test (T2 of the top level model).

T1-1 prepare instruction documents

EGM

  • prepare English version of layer conventions
  • prepare symbol legenda
  • prepare shadings legenda
  • prepare lines legenda
  • prepare specifications for frames and fonts
  • prepare project dictionary
  • prepare reference drawing
  • send the digital documents to TECAM by email

T1-2 comment instruction documents
TECAM

  • receive the digital documents
  • study the digital documents
  • formulate questions where things are not clear
  • formulate comments on the documents
  • send the comments and questions to EGM by email

T1-3 improve instruction

documents

EGM

  • receive comments and questions
  • formulate answers to the questions
  • work up significant comments in the instruction documents
  • send improved instruction documents and answers to the questions to TECAM by email

repeat steps T1-2 and T1-3 as often as necessary
T2

Performance test
Step by step testing of the intended process, as described in chapter 1, for a well chosen lay out drawing. This task overlaps T1.

T2-1 scan paper based

drawing

EGM:

  • select paper based drawing
  • scan drawing on 400 dpi
  • despeckle the tif file
  • remove superfluous information
  • add instructions and remarks
  • compress tif file and send file to TECAM by email

TECAM:

  • print the tif file and check for completeness and clearness
  • if not clear or complete: send message to EGM

EGM:

  • in case of message: complete information and send it to TECAM

T2-2 draw grid, main

measures, structural

elements, steps,

envelope

TECAM: (this step should take 1 day maximum)

  • draw grid and main measures in layer nr. 006
  • draw structural elements in layer nr. 028
  • draw steps in layer nr. 024
  • draw lifts in layer nr. 066
  • draw outer walls in layer nr. 021
  • draw outer window frames in layer nr 031
  • send CAD file to EGM for quality check

EGM:

  • check CAD file
  • in necessary: add remarks (annotations) in layer nr. 009 and send back to TECAM
  • if CAD file OK: give TECAM permission to proceed

T2-3 draw inner walls and

inner door and

window frames

TECAM: (this step should take 2 days maximum)

  • draw inner walls in layer nr. 022
  • draw door and window frames in layer nr. 032
  • send CAD file to EGM for quality check

EGM:

  • check CAD file
  • in necessary: add remarks (annotations) in layer nr. 009 and send back to TECAM
  • if CAD file OK: give TECAM permission to proceed

T2-4 draw fixed and

loose furnishings

TECAM: (this step should take 1 day maximum)

  • draw sanitary elements in layer nr. 074
  • draw lightning elements in layer nr. 063
  • draw furniture in layer nr. 082
  • draw closets in layer nr 086
  • send CAD file to EGM

EGM:

  • check CAD file
  • in necessary: add remarks (annotations) in layer nr. 009 and send back to TECAM
  • if CAD file OK: give TECAM permission to proceed

T2-5 add room names and

numbers, detail links

TECAM: (this step should take 1 day maximum)

  • add room names in layer nr. 120
  • add room numbers (codes) in layer nr. 121
  • send CAD file to EGM

EGM:

  • check CAD file
  • in necessary: add remarks (annotations) in layer nr. 009 and send back to TECAM
  • if CAD file OK: discharge TECAM

T2-6 adjust drawing

EGM:

  • import CAD file into Arkey
  • adjust CAD file according to Arkey format and standard
  • supply CAD file to user; collect remarks

T2-7 evaluate test

EGM:

  • produce evaluation report in concept
  • send report to TECAM

TECAM:

  • complete the evaluation report in concept
  • comment on the contribution of EGM in the report
  • send report back to EGM

EGM:

  • complete evaluation report
  • distribute report to all CARIBCAD members involved in Pilot 1
T3

Carry out actual project
Eloboration of the results of T3 in a work flow model of the actual project.

T3-1 negociate contract

(to be elaborated in detailed sub flowchart in a later stage)

EGM:

  • define project specifications: number and size of drawings, nature of the drawings (lay out, sections, elevations, detailing). If necessary: include a scanned sample
  • define delivery conditions (general conditions concerning e.g. liability, planning conditions, payment conditions)
  • send the specifications and the conditions to TECAM by email and request for a bid within a preset term, demand a confirmation of the receipt of the request

TECAM:

  • receive the request for a bid and send a confirmation of the receipt to EGM immediately
  • study the project specifications and the delivery conditions
  • if specifications and conditions are not completely clear: formulate questions and send these to EGM by email
  • if there are any comments, communicate them with EGM
  • make a bid and formulate accompanying (additional) conditions
  • send the bid to EGM by email and ask for a confirmation of the receipt

EGM:

  • receive the bid and send a confirmation to TECAM immediately
  • study the bid and compare the content with the initial request
  • if there are any questions or comments, communicate them with TECAM
  • prepare a preliminary contract, including a planning, and send it to TECAM by email

EGM & TECAM:

  • if necessary, negociate adjustments in the preliminary contract
  • if both parties agree with the contract and the incorporated conditons, 'sign' the contract.
  • confirm the receipt of each other's 'signature'.

T3-2 scan & prepare
drawings

EGM:

  • scan the paper based drawings
  • despeckle the digital drawings (tif files)
  • erase superfluous information
  • send the tif files to TECAM by email in compliance with the planning (part of the contract)
  • add instructions (annotations)

TECAM:

  • receive the tif files and send a confirmation to EGM immediately
  • study the files and communicate possible unclearness, difficulties and/or faults with EGM

T3-3 input drawings in

CAD system

TECAM:

  • input the drawings in CAD system according to the EGM drawing conventions
  • send the (preliminary) CAD files to EGM in compliance with the agreed phasing and planning (part of the contract)

EGM:

  • check the CAD files in compliance with the agreed phasing and planning (phasing of the Quality Control will depend on the complexity of the project and the evaluation results of T2 'performance check')
  • in necessary: add remarks (annotations) in layer nr. 009 and send back to TECAM
  • if CAD file OK: give TECAM permission to proceed

T3-4 adjust drawings in

Arkey

EGM:

  • import CAD file into Arkey
  • adjust CAD file according to Arkey format and standard
  • supply CAD file to user

T3-5 determine project

EGM:
