Hacia la pr�xima bienal del Caribe
Fue de gran inter�s una reuni�n donde se intercambiaron, colegialmente,
nuevas apuestas del futuro, con el prop�sito de reforzar con el arte y
desde Santo Domingo, una regi�n actual y creadora.

La Direcci�n del Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), en la persona de Sarah
Hermann, convoc� a una reuni�n de
reflexi�n e intercambio para tomar en cuenta la perspectiva de regresar a
la celebraci�n de la Bienal de Arte contempor�neo del Caribe, en Santo
Domingo.
En la convocatoria participaron Alberto Bass y Porfirio Herrera,
exdirectores del museo; Marianne Tolentino, promotora del encuentro
art�stico bianual y encargada de los Asuntos Internacionales en el MAM;
Mildred Canahuate, directora del Museo de Dibujo; Carlos Sangiovanni y
Alejandro Cabral, subdirectores del MAM; Gamal Michel�n, subsecretario de
Estado de Cultura, as� como Laura Gil, cr�tica de Arte, subdirectora del
MAM, y Lyle O�Reitzel, galerista. Tambi�n Ricardo Jarne Ram�n, director del
Centro Cultural de Espa�a (CCE).
En la reuni�n, con la experiencia de cada participante, qued� muy claro el
sentimiento de abandono de las autoridades anteriores, las cuales mostraron
durante todo el per�odo de gesti�n poco inter�s hacia un evento de tanta
importancia internacional.
Los presentes consideraron que realmente el evento fue detenido en su
tercera edici�n, cuando tomaba una gran fuerza a nivel regional e
internacional. No obstante, se decidi�, no juzgar la suspensi�n, del
pasado, pero s� trabajar por la edici�n del futuro. Sorprendentemente�
�Alberto Bass expres� que le parec�a un proyecto de importancia nacional,
volver a lanzar esta Bienal!
MANERA. Durante el encuentro se trabaj� bajo el consenso de opiniones que
concreticen la nueva Bienal: se opt� por determinar �qu� ser� del Caribe?,
pues el concepto Caribe se podr�a extender a una idea cultural humana y
est�tica mucho m�s que geo-pol�tica y (o) hist�rica.
Por esta raz�n, la convocatoria, ir�a m�s all� del Caribe insular y
atraer�a creadores de Am�rica Central, herederos del Caribe insular, como
es la parte mexicana de Veracruz, Cartagena de Indias, en Colombia, y por
supuesto, todos los pa�ses del istmo central, donde se transmiti� a trav�s
de los garilunas un lazo humano e hist�rico con las islas.
En otras palabras, habr� una selecci�n e invitaci�n, algo m�s precisa y
concisa, en la convocatoria "Caribe".
Qued� como reflexi�n para llevar en la pr�xima manifestaci�n, si se
impondr� la cantidad de artistas por pa�s invitado y hasta qu� punto todos
los pa�ses o islas, participar�an en cantidades iguales, sabiendo que todas
las islas no han tenido el mismo curso en las artes pl�sticas.
Este punto provoca, realmente, un debate de fondo, pues, en t�rminos de
desarrollo art�stico, se entiende y se sabe que muchos pa�ses vecinos se
han desenvuelto en una expresi�n art�stica local, con aut�nticas rese�as de
una producci�n de atracci�n tur�stica y paisajistas, incapaz de compartir
un espacio donde se convoque el arte contempor�neo, con sus
reivindicaciones innovadoras y vanguardistas.
Toda la asamblea expres� la urgencia de una curadur�a finamente consecuente
bajo un comisariado exigente y coherente.
Estos principios, no dejan de llamar la atenci�n, pues si se llevan con
responsabilidad, se lograr� una Bienal que exhiba el arte actual y
comprometido con una propuesta, un concepto, una idea, una creaci�n
art�stica que pertenezca a los planteamientos del arte de hoy, para lograr
una Bienal integradora del Caribe en el mundo; con apertura y participaci�n.
Se entendi� que deben estar los artistas que residen fuera de sus
sociedades de origen, como es el caso de muchos creadores que por razones
personales, econ�micas y pol�ticas, viven en Miami, Par�s, Montreal,
Madrid, Roma o Londres; ellos tienen una propuesta y una obra que responde
a la convocatoria, y la Bienal necesita esos creadores, para ampliar esa
idea de Caribe internacional y presente en los grandes centros urbanos del
arte contempor�neo.

Tanto Laura Gil como Sarah Hermann, comparten la,idea sostenida por la
Asamblea, que ser�a justo abrir la Bienal a las diferentes vertientes del
arte actual, y se precis� que la fotograf�a tendr�,su espacio, pues
indiscutiblemente de las artes visuales, es la que m�s tiende a innovar y
cuestionar. Se abord� la necesidad testimonial y promocional de un cat�logo
razonado triling�e, que sea el embajador del arte actual del Caribe.

la r�flexion et �change prendre en consid�ration la perspective de revenir
� la c�l�bration du Biennal d'Art contemporain du Cara�be, dans Domingo
Sacr�.
Dans la convocation ils ont particip� Albert Bass et Porfirio Herrera,
exdirectores du mus�e,; Marianne Tolentino, organisateur de la rencontre
bianual artistique et dans charge des Mati�res Internationales dans le MAM;
Mildred Canahuate, directeur du Mus�e de Tirer,; Carlos Sangiovanni et
Alexandre Cabral, subdirectores du MAM,; Gamal Michel�n, sous-secr�taire
d'�tat de Culture, aussi bien que Laura Gil, critique d'Art, subdirectora
du MAM, et Lyle O�Reitzel, galerista. Aussi Ricardo Jarne Ram�n, directeur
du Centre Culturel d'Espagne (CCE).
Dans la r�union, avec l'exp�rience de chaque participant, c'�tait tr�s
clair la sensation d'abandonnement des autorit�s ant�rieures qui ont montr�
un petit pendant la p�riode enti�re d'int�r�t de l'administration vers un
�v�nement de tant d'importance internationale.
Le pr�sent a consid�r� que l'�v�nement a �t� arr�t� dans sa troisi�me
�dition vraiment, quand les he/she ont pris une grande force � niveau
r�gional et international. N�anmoins, les he/she ont d�cid�, ne pas juger
la suspension, du pass�, mais oui travailler pour l'�dition du futur.
�tonnamment� Albert Bass ont exprim� qu'un projet d'importance nationale a
paru il, jetez encore ce Biennal!
LE CHEMIN. Pendant la rencontre on a travaill� sous le consentement
d'opinions qui concreticen le nouveau un Biennal: est-ce qu'il a �t� opt�
pour d�terminer ce que ce sera du Cara�be?, parce que le Cara�be du concept
pourrait �tendre � une id�e culturelle humaine et esth�tique beaucoup plus
de geo politique et (ou) historique.
Pour cette raison, la convocation, irait au-del� le Cara�be insulaire et il
attirerait des cr�ateurs d'Am�rique centrale, h�ritiers du Cara�be
insulaire, comme lui la partie mexicaine de Veracruz est, Cartag�ne d'Inde,
en Colombie, et bien s�r, tous les pays de l'isthme central o� il a �t�
transmis � travers le garilunas un noeud humain et historique avec les
�les.
En d'autres termes, il y aura une s�lection et invitation, quelque chose de
plus pr�cis et plus concis, dans le convoquant " Cara�be ".
C'�tait comme r�flexion pour rentrer la prochaine manifestation, si la
quantit� d'artistes sera impos�e par pays invit� et � quelle ampleur tous
les pays ou �les, participerait aux m�mes quantit�s, en sachant que toutes
les �les n'ont pas eu le m�me cours dans les arts plastiques.
Vraiment, ce point cause un d�bat inf�rieur, parce que, quant �
d�veloppement artistique, l'he/she comprend l'un l'autre et il est su que
beaucoup de pays avoisinants ont �t� d�faits dans une expression artistique
locale, avec r�visions authentiques d'une production d'attraction
touristique et paisajistas, incapable partager un espace o� l'art
contemporain est appel�, avec leurs r�cup�rations innovatrices et
d'avant-garde.
L'assembl�e enti�re a exprim� l'urgence d'un d�licatement garde cons�quente
sous un demander et comisariado coh�rent.
Ces principes, n'arr�tez pas d'obtenir l'attention, parce que si ils sont
prises avec responsabilit�, un Biennal sera accompli qu'objets expos�s le
courant et a commis l'art avec une proposition, un concept, une id�e, une
cr�ation artistique qui appartient aux places de l'art d'aujourd'hui,
accomplir une Biennale un int�gratif du Cara�be dans le monde,; avec ouvrir
et participation.
He/she comprenait l'un l'autre qui les artistes qui r�sident en dehors de
leurs soci�t�s de l'origine, devrait �tre comme lui est le cas de beaucoup
de cr�ateurs qui pour les raisons personnelles, �conomiques et politiques,
ils habitent � Miami, Paris, Montr�al, Madrid, Rome ou Londres; ils ont une
proposition et un travail que l'he/she r�pond � la convocation, et le
Biennal a besoin de ces cr�ateurs, agrandir cette id�e de Cara�be
international et pr�sent dans les grands centres urbains de l'art
contemporain.

Tant de Laura Gil comme Sarah Hermann, partage la,idea soutenu par
l'Assembl�e qui serait ouvrir le Biennal aux inclinaisons diff�rentes de
l'art courant exactement, et l'he/she �tait n�cessaire que les tendr�,su de
l'image espacent, parce qu'indiscutablement des arts visuels, c'est celui
qui plus d'�tend innover et questionner. La recommandation et n�cessit�
promotionnelle d'un catalogue raisonn� trilingue ont �t� approch�es qu'est
l'ambassadeur de l'art courant du Cara�be.

In the meeting, with each participant's experience, it was very clear the
feeling of abandonment of the previous authorities, which showed a little
during the whole period of administration interest toward an event of so
much international importance.
The present considered that the event was really stopped in its third
edition, when he/she took a great force at regional and international
level. Nevertheless, he/she decided, not to judge the suspension, of the
past, but yes to work for the edition of the future. Surprisingly� Alberto
Bass expressed that a project of national importance seemed him, throw this
Biennial one again!
WAY. During the encounter one worked under the consent of opinions that
concreticen the new one Biennial: was it opted to determine what it will be
from the Caribbean?, because the concept Caribbean could extend to a human
cultural idea and aesthetics much more than geo-politics and (or)
historical.
For this reason, the convocation, would go beyond the insular Caribbean and
it would attract creators from Central America, heirs from the insular
Caribbean, like it is the Mexican part of Veracruz, Cartagena of India, in
Colombia, and of course, all the countries of the central isthmus, where it
was transmitted through the garilunas a human and historical knot with the
islands.
In other words, there will be a selection and invitation, something more
precise and more concise, in the convoking " Caribbean ".
It was as reflection to take in the next manifestation, if the quantity of
artists will be imposed by invited country and to what extent all the
countries or islands, would participate in same quantities, knowing that
all the islands have not had the same course in the plastic arts.
This point causes, really, a bottom debate, because, in terms of artistic
development, he/she understands each other and it is known that many
neighboring countries have been unwrapped in a local artistic expression,
with authentic reviews of a production of tourist attraction and
paisajistas, unable to share a space where the contemporary art is
summoned, with their innovative and avant-garde recoveries.
The whole assembly expressed the urgency of a finely consequent
guardianship under a demanding and coherent comisariado.
These principles, don't stop to get the attention, because if they are
taken with responsibility, a Biennial one will be achieved that exhibits
the current and committed art with a proposal, a concept, an idea, an
artistic creation that belongs to the positions of today's art, to achieve
a Biennial one integrative of the Caribbean in the world; with opening and
participation.
He/she understood each other that the artists that reside outside of their
origin societies, should be like it is the case of many creators that for
personal, economic and political reasons, they live in Miami, Paris,
Montreal, Madrid, Rome or London; they have a proposal and a work that
he/she responds to the convocation, and the Biennial one needs those
creators, to enlarge that idea of international and present Caribbean in
the big urban centers of the contemporary art.
