Daniel, after reading your message - very
informative and substantial, indeed - I get
the impression that even if the funds existed,
you would not be in favor of conrinuing with
Mistica. So, the problem is not really financial.
Yo do believe this is a project that has come to
an end, that it no longer serves the purposes for
which it was created, that it would need in any
case major changes. Probably so. Many members of
the list, however, as expressed in their messages,
think otherwise and see the list as something
useful, not deserving to die. Your standards, as
the creator of all this, are different from the
standards of many non-creators. In my view, there
is a need to be transparent and honest in this
discussion of "the future of Mistica", so that
people do not continue to think of solutions
that are not such and volunteer to contribute
their money, time, efforts, etc, to something
that has no chance to survive.

The questions you raise on participation are
crucial, hopefully a small interested group -
especially those of us who have experience as
coordinators and moderators of groups, networks,
etc. - could organize some serious discussion on
the subject.
