Perhaps I am responding too quickly, but I find these messages very
worrying. From time to time I hear about things - not officially, just
hints and rumours. It is very difficult to evaluate these things properly,
and the major English language broadcasters of news have been very silent
about WSIS and Geneva - WTO in Cancun, Bush, Blair and Iraq take all of the
attention.
Could Daniel help us (on the basis of "A pesar de haber sido presente en
los primeros d�as ...") with an idea of how serious the situation really
is? I still have to follow up on the first links he sent. The second
article, even making allowances for journalistic exaggeration, seems to be
a very powerful indictment of the whole process, but sitting here in St.
Lucia I am really in no position to judge.
Please remember also that, while I can respond to the emotional force of
the English report (a punch straight on the nose), it is more difficult for
me to read the undercurrents in Daniel's Spanish (which is anyway
invariably the language of the diplomat :-) ) In the same way the English
may not sound so serious to you as it does to me.
