Abstract:

According to the article entitled "Internet-Sngal : Les habitants des bidonvilles se ruent sur l'Internet" (the inhabitants of the slum areas rush to the Internet), in the slum areas of Dakar, the inhabitants know and use the Internet.
Indeed, for about 2 years, thanks to the "Cyberpop" project of Enda Tiers-Monde and the IDRC, eight Internet centers have been created and a following through has been done with the local population. The Internet help them, among other things, to get information and to see their professional life from a different point of view.
