M�s de 150 autoras e intelectuales asistir�n al evento

La capital domicana ser� la sede a fines de abril de la Novena
Conferencia Internacional de Cr�ticos, Cr�ticas y Escritoras del Caribe

Abril es un mes querido por los poetas, los cantantes y por la
primavera. En Santo Domingo es querido por la Feria del Libro, pero
tambi�n por las escritoras y cr�ticas literarias.
Del 26 al 30 de abril del presente a�o, Santo Domingo ser� hogar de
alrededor de 150 autoras e intelectuales de todos los rincones del
Caribe, no importa que hablen espa�ol, ingl�s, holand�s o franc�s. El
motivo ser� la celebraci�n de la IX Conferencia Internacional de
Cr�ticos, Cr�ticas y Escritoras del Caribe. La conferencia anterior, la
octava, fue celebrada en Martinica.
La presidenta in situdel evento a celebrarse en la Biblioteca
Nacional es la poeta dominicana Ylonka Nacidit-Perdomo, y tendr� una
dedicatoria a la escritora y cr�tica de arte Mar�a Ugarte, una de las
fuertes candidatas al Premio Nacional de Literatura del 2004.
Para el encuentro hay muchas posibilidades de la asistencia de la
escritora haitiana en lengua inglesa Edwidge Danticat, aunque est�
todav�a por confirmar su participaci�n en el encuentro literario, seg�n
aclar� la representante de la editorial Norma en el pa�s, Patricia Urrutia.
La novena conferencia caribe�a estar� dedicada a Mar�a Ugarte, entre
otros motivos, como forma de celebraci�n del arribo a los 90 a�os de
existencia, en el pasado mes de febrero, de la investigadora de origen
espa�ol. Otro de los motivos es hacer un reconocimiento a su
inestimable contribuci�n al pensamiento human�stico universal. A Ugarte
se le concedi� en marzo del 2002 la Condecoraci�n de la Orden de Duarte,
S�nchez y Mella, en el Grado de Oficial.
El tema central de la conferencia ser� Po�ticas de liberaci�n en la
escritura del Caribe:
Reconfiguraciones del g�nero y de la naci�n. Los cr�ticos y cr�ticas
que participar�n en los diversos seminarios y conferencias durante
cuatro d�as en la capital dominicana proceden no s�lo de pa�ses del
Caribe, sino incluso de Europa y Africa. Desde Italia, Finlandia,
Estados Unidos, Francia, Holanda, Colombia, Brasil y Sud�frica; pasando
por diversas islas antillanas �St. Croix, Barbados, Jamaica, Puerto Rico
y Guadalupe, entre otras�, las participantes en la conferencia
internacional son muchas, y m�s importante a�n, la calidad de quienes
vendr�n al pa�s para dicho evento, declara Ylonka Nacidit-Perdomo.
A pesar de que la conferencia tiene como marco geogr�fico el Caribe,
esta regi�n es asumida como una zona heter�genea, empezando por la
diversidad de lenguas que se hablan en una zona del mundo vista no pocas
veces como un conglomerado de islas sin grandes diferencias una de la
otra. Numerosas son las preguntas cuyas interrogantes ser�n discutidas
en la novena conferencia, como �Qu� se revela dentro de la obra de las
creadoras de la regi�n?. Ylonka Nacidit-Perdomo refiere que si la
literatura es frecuentemente la concienciade una sociedad, �es qu�
las escritoras retan, clarifican o transforman estos paradigmas?.
Las preguntas ser�n muchas, las respuestas, seguramente menos. Es
natural que al reunir a un buen n�mero de cr�ticas y escritoras �unas
150� las respuestas no sean las mismas. Preguntas y respuestas,
tentativas y aciertos. Lo cierto es que Santo Domingo tendr� un abril
muy literario, ya sea en la Feria del Libro o en la novena conferencia
que reune a tantas autoras de diversas lenguas, pero girando alrededor
de un sola regi�n, peque�a, pero heter�genea.

Avril est un mois voulu par les po�ts, les chanteurs et par le
ressort. Dans Santo Domingo il est voulu par la foire de Libro, mais
�galement par les auteurs et les critiques litt�raires. Des 26 aux
30 d'avril de l'ann�e courante, Santo Domingo sera maison d'environ
150 auteurs et les intellectuels de tous les coins des Cara�bes,
n'importe pas qu'ils parlent espagnol, anglais, N�erlandais ou
Fran�ais. La raison sera la c�l�bration IX de la conf�rence
l'international, les critiques et les auteurs critiques des Cara�bes.
La conf�rence pr�c�dente, huiti�me, a �t� c�l�br�e dans
Martinica. Le pr�sident dans l'�v�nement de situdel � c�l�brer
dans la biblioth�que nationale est po�t dominicain Ylonka
Nacidit-Perdomo, et aura un attachement � l'auteur et au critique de
l'art Maria Ugarte, un des candidats forts au prix national de la
litt�rature du 2004. Pour la rencontre il y a beaucoup de

certaine chose est que Santo Domingo aura avril tr�s litt�raire, ou
dans la foire de Libro ou de la neuvi�me conf�rence qui reune �
tant d'auteurs des langues diverses, mais de la rotation autour d'une
r�gion simple, petit, mais du heter�genea.
