General
Objective |
| OLISTICA’s
general objective is the strengthening of social actors
in the LA&C region in order to consolidate an
action-research human network capable of conducting
research about the incidence of ICTs in their local
contexts. With a social mandate in mind, these social
groups will better appropriate these ICT tools in order
to actively effect changes in the political and social
scenarios at their respective national and regional
levels. |

Specific
Objectives |
OLISTICA
has a double set of
objectives:

The
first group—corresponding to this
proposal submitted to IDRC, will constitute, as a
participatory action-research network, the observatory
in action of social impacts of ICTs in Latin America and
the Caribbean.

The
second group—to be funded by an external
source (tentatively the European Commission),
further feeds, maintains, explores and extends MISTICA’s
original work.
It is important to mention that both sets
of objectives are designed to work as complementing each other but none is
prerequisite to the other one.
